Braby Take on Run for the Future Charity Challenge

A team from Braby are preparing for the Run for the Future race this Sunday 20th September, as they go head to head with Bristol financial advisors, Brighton Williams.

The challenge to take on the 5 km run, which raises money for the Bristol Urological Institute’s Prostate Cancer Appeal, will see Braby’s Sales and Marketing Director Paul Mayer compete against his wife Caroline, who is running for the Brighton Williams team.

The challenge between the two companies was made at a match at Frampton Cotterell Rugby Club in April, which was staged in memorial to Derek Mayer, Paul’s father who passed away from the disease in February.

Paul Mayer and both the Broad Plain and Frampton Rugby Clubs, at which Derek Mayer dedicated many years to service to, say they are determined to help prevent other men losing their lives in the same way.

Players from both clubs have also pledged to take part in this year’s Run for the Future.

The fourth Run for the Future will take place on the Bristol Downs at 12 noon. Donations to the Bristol Urological Institute’s Prostate Cancer Appeal can be made at www.runforthefuture.org.
